The food was below the standard l would expect of a hotel of this quality’s
The hotel was very quiet, and our room was on the ground floor.
Our room was fairly small and there was a cold draught from the window
It's just total class--the peace,tranquility,magnificent gardens,ambiance,fine restaraunt,quiet lounges,perfect if you're a bit stressed and want to unwind.
Road bumps in access road need defining -they were almost invisible.
the only thing i didnt like was i had requested a late checkout and the maid service was at our door 3 times and felt really rushed to get out
the rooms are ultra large, very clean, original victoria features enhanced and staff are very dedicated on serving you to the best of their abilities
The room service is timely but very inaccurate - they have constant difficulty managing to deliver even basic tea and toast without providing simple things like plates or knives or cups. Would also suggest if people check if conferences or functions are being held as if so the facilities for guest disappear as in our two experiences day conferences took up every facility and uunable to have a quiet coffee area for meetings
Althought the hotel was full and there was a wedding at the venue, we were not affected by any noise whatsoever. We found our stay very peaceful. The staff were excellent and the service - reception, restaurants - was very good.
Our experience of the hotel was fantastic. The food was excellent and the staff couldnt have been more helpful. Overall a perfect break.
Lovely setting, nice traditional architecture and absolutely fantastic food which was great value for money
I found the gardens to be beautiful and very relaxing, the staff were extremely helpful and courteous
We used this hotel because of its ideal location to Falkland Palace where we took a hot air balloon ride. The hotel and sorrounding area was wonderful. Helpful staff, clean and luxurious rooms and two excellent restaurants made this a very enjoyable short stay.
Very pleasant atmosphere, the rooms are excellent and the grounds are breathtaking. Very well maintained
Peaceful location with none of the usual "city noise". Looking out from the room window to see wildlife in the gardens etc. Lovely gardens, pity the weather wasn't so good thereby missing the chance to enjoy the ambience at its best.
Impressive interior and exterior
Staff need training in customer care some staff need training in customer care. receptionist very good however
Large comfortable room.
Poor view from room, bathroom furniture in poor condition.
The main restaurant was closed because it was a Monday. However, the Bistro restaurant and staff were excellent and so were the public rooms.
The covers on the arms of the chairs in our room were filthy, the window frame was rotting, the radiator in the bathroom was rusted, the sound on the television had gone and the safety checks on the electrical appliances in the room appeared not to have been done since 2008. The carpet was soiled and so was the bed throw and the door lock was unsound. There was no lift and our room, oddly enough our discounted room (£120), was as far from reception as one could get up the main staircase, then up a secondary landing and then along a corridor. The normal price is £175 for this room. Breakfast is £14.75. The assistant manager was made aware of all of this before we left.
